One day before surgery, brush your teeth with your normal toothpaste, then use PERIO -AID mouthwash after each meal.

On the day of surgery do the same.
Make sure you eat before the surgery.
When you arrive, our team will be available to answer any further questions you may have.

Apply an ice pack (at home) to the affected area and hold it there for between 10 and 20 minutes. Reapply as often as possible during the first 2 days.

Avoid eating and drinking any food and drink that is too hot for 1 or 2 days and have a supply of food that is easy to chew

Avoid exposure to heat sources (heating, sun, … ) for 48 hours

Disinfect the wound with PERIO – AID SPRAY twice per day for 1 week from the day of intervention.

Brush your teeth with the toothbrush (Elgydium Clinic Brosse 7/100) from the evening of the surgery up until the sutures are removed.

Bleeding for a few hours (4 to 5 hours) , which can sometimes last for up to 48 hours. In this case, place a wet sterile gauze at the site of the surgery and hold in place for 15-20 minutes.

Edema / hematoma (bruising and swelling) that will peak 48 hours after surgery

Pain that may be severe after surgery but should gradually reduce after a few hours (this pain can be controlled by analgesics).

In some cases the following may occur

Difficulty opening the mouth for 1 week.
Dry lips.
A slight increase in temperature for 48h (fever) .
Pain in related areas (ear, throat, opposite teeth …).

Food

During the first 24 hours, alcohol is not recommended.
It is recommended to reduce, or better still to stop smoking cigarettes for 5 days, so as not to delay healing.

Physical activity

During the first week, do not play sport (to avoid the risk of bleeding and/or putting the sutures under strain).

During the first two nights, ensure your head is slightly elevated to reduce swelling. Your cooperation in carrying out these recommendations will contribute to the success of your treatment.
